Michael Payne has been at the forefront of the development of the global sponsorship industry.
Initially working with the team at West Nally in the 1970s designing and implementing sponsorships
across a range of international events from the 1st World Athletics Championships, Test Match
Cricket through to the first London Marathon.
Joining the IOC in 1983, initially with their agency, Michael helped design the IOC’s global sponsorship
programme TOP, now in its 10th edition, and oversaw more than $5 billion of sponsorship deals.
Michael has consulted, developed and sold sponsorship programmes to more than 100 international
companies across all industry sectors – and continues to conceive and broker some of the largest
agreements within the industry
